Maximilian Balmus
Dr Max Balmus graduated from King’s College London with a BEng and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, where he specialised in developing new fluid-solid interaction methods for simulating cardiac valve mechanics using multiple overlapping grids.
He joined CEMRG in 2024, and since then has been working on building digital twins for pulmonary arterial hypertension patients using implantable monitoring device data, as part of the CVD-Net and MiMeC projects. This work aims to improve patient stratification as well as to enable personalised medicine.
