Steven Niederer joins Stanford as Professor of Medicine

Steven became Professor of Medicine in the Cardiovascular Medicine division of the Stanford University School of Medicine on 1 July 2026, and keeps his Chair in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial.

Sanjiv Narayan welcomed him to Stanford’s Department of Medicine, recognising his work applying computational bioengineering to cardiovascular medicine. At Stanford, Steven leads research on cardiac digital twins, which builds on the work of the group.
